A World in a Hat

Presented by

Alex Yakobson

or

Alex’s workshop involves his personal experiences while living in three different countries with different climates (so different hats!). The aim is to show how climate shapes customs, traditions, and other aspects of life. One version of the workshop focuses on how climate affects clothes, games, dancing, greetings, food, and other material culture. The second version looks at how hats made of different materials and different cultural traditions like language, housing, history, folklore, and agriculture vary across cultures.
