Fazal Moneer Adil is a first-generation Afghan refugee, writer, community leader, and entrepreneur based in Des Moines, Iowa whose life has been shaped by movement across borders and the search for belonging. Born in a refugee camp in Pakistan, he later lived and worked in Dubai before returning to Afghanistan, where he served as an interpreter for U.S. Special Operatives. After resettling in the United States, he worked as a Family Health Navigator with Iowa HHS and as a Wellness Case Manager with the U.S. Committee for Refugees and Immigrants (USCRI), supporting refugee families through the challenges of resettlement, health care, and education. He now serves on the board of the Iowa Afghan Community and Cultural Organization (IACCO), continuing his mission of advocacy and service.
