Valerie Williams grew up dancing in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Although her family is from Germany, she danced with everyone, including polkas at the state fair, Mexican folk dances at the Guadalupe Center, line dances with the Greeks across the street, and eventually making a living in musical theater and then as a modern dancer with her own company, Co’Motion Dance Theater (CMDT). Currently artistic director of CMDT, she tours with her company, choreographs and produces concerts, and dances Argentine Tango for fun. Valerie is a citizen of dance and loves its ability to build community, express joy, and to transform lives.
