Learn and enjoy dances such as La Raspa, Carnivalito, and La Danza de Los Viejitos. Ranging from simple to complex, Valerie will accompany the dances with comments about the region and why the dances came into being.
Dancing is an exhibition of life – it allows us to engage in society in many ways. Folk dances (from village circle dances to rock and roll response to music) not only show how societies behave but also encourage individuals to behave well in society. Learn a country’s folk dances and you will know something about that country and its people.
This workshop is appropriate for all ages.
