In this workshop, participants will learn about the history and traditions of the Kwanzaa holiday celebrations. Using Call & Response in Swahili/Kiswahili, participants work together to learn the Seven Principles of Kwanzaa and its symbols. As a group, they will do an activity with the Unity Cup and explore the meaning of “Harambee,” which means working together or “all pull together.” Participants will understand how Kwanzaa is a celebration and a way of life shared by people of many religions and cultures.

This workshop can be adapted for participants of any age and makes a great Lunch and Learn presentation for businesses.
