Kay Fenton Smith’s appreciation of world cultures was the inspiration for her first book ZAKERY’S BRIDGE, which she co-authored with Carol Roh Spaulding. In addition to writing and editing, she teaches workshops for all ages. Ms. Smith is a Cultural Ambassador for CultureALL and also teaches with the Iowa Arts Council. Ms. Smith serves on Iowa’s Reach Out and Read Board, promoting children’s literacy for the state’s youngest readers. She also enjoys working with youth as a teaching artist for the Des Moines After School Arts Program (ASAP). Proceeds from ZAKERY’S BRIDGE benefit CultureALL and the Iowa International Center.
