Do I need to print and bring my ticket?

Ideally, yes. It would expedite the process if each person has their printed ticket in hand. However, we can also reference you by your name or group.

What should I wear?

This is an elegant night celebrating our vibrant community. Guests will come dressed in fashions representing a wide range of styles. We want you to feel comfortable. And if you're looking for something fun and different to wear, use this as an opportunity to get to know your friends, neighbors and colleagues from other cultures. Visit with them as you gather ideas and suggestions!

How do I get my complimentary drink?

Ambassadors and greeters will give you a drink ticket and bracelet after as you enter the archway to the Global Bazaar. Go to the cash bar in the Bazaar and exchange your ticket for a drink.

How do I find my table?

We do not have assigned seating. In fact, we encourage you to explore and connect. Meet new people. Be curious. And when you feel like sitting down, take a seat at one of the dining tables, cocktail tables, or soft chairs of your choice.

Do I have to dance?

No. There are many ways for you to engage so you don’t have to be a wall flower either. Enjoy trying new things, like Henna designs created by artists from India and Nepal, fruit carving as celebrated in Thailand, and painting with muralist Siricasso García. Explore the Global Bazaar and enjoy the pop-up performances.

Which dances do we get to learn?

Dance lessons begin at 9:25 and last just 20 minutes. You get to decide which of the four dance styles you want to learn.

  • ZIMBABWE
    Nhemamusasa with Jack Chimbetete (CultureALL)
  • IRELAND
Step Dancing with Shaye Coughlin (Foy School of Irish Dance)
  • INDIA
Bollywood Dance with Pragnya Yogesh (Eshanjali Dance Academy)
  • LATIN AMERICA
Bachata with Zahar Dragomirov (26th St. Latin Dance)

Who are the vendors at the Global Bazaar?

Several community partners are joining CultureALL to make this event extra special for you. Your purchases support their missions and members. CultureALL is not charging a vendor fee and will not take a percentage of their profits.

  • One Voice DSM
  • Thai Association of Iowa
  • Iowa's Latino Heritage Festival (with Our Sister Parish and La Tiendita Elena's)
  • Nepalese Community in Iowa

Where can I store my new purchases?

A Coat Check Room is right beside the Bazaar. We’ll keep your items safe while you enjoy your night of dining and dancing.

Do I need to bring cash or checks?

You might want to tip the photographers and artists, like those doing Henna, Fruit Carving, and a Community Mural, but otherwise it’s not necessary. The cash bars and vendors at the Global Bazaar are set up to accept electronic payments.

Will there be photographers?

Yes. Photographers will be taking both candid and posed photos, as well as live stream videos. Many of these images will be published and shared online. Some will be used in CultureALL’s future marketing. If you would like a photographer to take a special group photo when you arrive, please let one of the greeters know and they’ll connect you with one of the photographers for a brief photo shoot.

Did my ticket purchase include a donation to CultureALL?

No. Funds from ticket sales support the artists, performers and other entertainers at the event, as well as most expenses related to food and the venue. All other support has come through in-kind services from an impressive team of volunteers.
