Natalie Steenson is from Des Moines and is a native of Iowa. Her ancestry encompasses several European countries including Ireland. She holds a BA in Music from Coe College in Cedar Rapids, Iowa. She is a trained early childhood music instructor and teaches early childhood music classes at the Montessori Children’s House and Art House Des Moines. She directed elementary-aged children’s choirs with Iowa Youth Chorus for 8 years and is currently the music director at Windsor Presbyterian Church. Ms. Steenson is also the founder and director of Art House Des Moines, a community arts initiative at Windsor Presbyterian Church (www.arthousedsm.com). She is a teaching artist with ASAP and Kids Cafe presenting music, movement, and musical storytelling workshops. Ms. Steenson teaches private piano lessons, sings in the Des Moines Choral Society, and plays her lever harp for church and community programs.
