Job Title - Sales: Business Development Specialist
Reports to - Operations Director
Salary - $50k base, 4% commission with expense reimbursement
Location - Greater Des Moines
Start Date - October 2023
About the Position
This sales role is responsible for qualifying leads, presenting proposals that serve clients’ needs, and issuing contracts to close the sale.
To be successful, you will have a deep understanding of the entire scope of CultureALL’s programs and services, with particular focus on DEI Planning. You will be a catalyst for CultureALL’s vision for Iowa to become more inclusive, accepting of diversity, and striving toward equity so that all people have opportunities for higher quality of life.
CultureALL’s clients include small- and medium-size businesses, as well as K-12 schools, nonprofits, and more. We served 40,000+ people this past year with a small staff of five people and an effective board of directors. We work collaboratively to identify our annual and quarterly goals, we support each other in accomplishing those goals, and we hold each other accountable for getting the work done. Responsibilities
80% Sales Activity
Inspire businesses to use CultureALL for their DEI efforts; represent CultureALL accurately by having a thorough knowledge of our programs and services
Qualify leads and prioritize prospects that are a good fit for CultureALL; use data points that include budget, authority, need, and timeframe
Draft and present project proposals, detailing the scope of work and cost estimates
Finalize the agreements with signed contracts to initiate CultureALL’s service delivery
Achieve weekly, monthly, and annual sales and activity goals to maximize CultureALL’s sales and revenue growth for DEI Planning services
10% Product Positioning
Thoroughly research clients’ needs and understand how CultureALL can address those needs; convey details to CultureALL’s DEI Planning Director and marketing
Conduct on-going research of markets and potential connectors; work with Community Outreach to develop relationships and collaborate with marketing to develop effective lead generation tools
Discern when and how to adjust sales techniques based on interactions and results in the field
Make presentations, attend networking events, and participate in conferences in order to grow client relationships
Position CultureALL as a platform to engage the community in discussions about DEI advances and successes; may include planning webinars, videos, and interviews with/for clients on DEI-related topics
10% Reporting
Maintain accurate, detailed client records in Salesforce CRM to nurture an active, repeat customer base
Conduct month-end and year-end close processes
Qualifications
Demonstrated understanding of the sales process
Experience closing high-value deals
Quick learner with outstanding, natural abilities for listening, negotiating, and organizing
Strong ability to analyze business opportunities effectively
Approachable and highly professional - with integrity, optimism, energy, and collaboration
Proven ability to engage collaborators
Efficient with time management; self-disciplined to complete administrative tasks and recordkeeping with accuracy and timeliness
Experience related to culture, diversity, equity, accessibility, inclusion, and belonging preferred
Experience with software for word processing, spreadsheets, slide presentations, and CRM databases (Salesforce)
Highly motivated to serve CultureALL’s mission
Aligned with CultureALL’s values
Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation
