Dawn Martinez Oropeza is the Executive Director of Latinas/Latinos al Éxito, a statewide mentorship program for middle school Latinas and Latinos to motivate and prepare them for secondary and post-high school education. She received her Bachelor of Fine Arts Degree from the School of the Art Institute of Chicago in 1992 and her Masters of Fine Arts Degree from the University of California, San Diego in 2000. Her greatest honor was being selected by the Chavez family to preserve and conserve the private office of United Farm Workers Leader, Cesar E. Chavez. Throughout her academic and professional career, Ms. Oropeza has been strongly committed to strengthening Latino communities. She provides education programs on Aztec Dance and Culture to community organizations and schools. Ms. Oropeza continues to conduct residencies for the community and is an exhibiting artist. Her most passionate commitment is that ALL aspiring Americans will receive a roadmap to citizenship in this country.
