Hmong New Year is an annual celebration that takes place in the fall to honor the ancestors and spirits while giving thanks for the completion of the year’s harvest and to welcome a new beginning. The celebration is rooted in agricultural history and religious tradition. Come with Kitty to experience Hmong New Year, where you will learn about traditional clothing, food, and games!

Participants will:

  • Create paper Hmong hats
  • Participate in the "Khi Tes" (hand tie) activity
  • Learn a traditional Hmong dance routine
  • Play “pov pob” (ball toss)
